N2 - The response function of a Ge(Li) coaxial detector with a sensitive volume of 17 cm3 for gamma rays of energies ranging from 2.23 to 10.83 MeV has been determined. The measurements were carried out with an experimental set-up using the neutron beam from the DR 3 reactor ar Risö and the (n, γ) reaction as gamma-ray source. The important features of the spectra are discussed, and the double-escape peak efficiency is determined.
