    Abstract

Concrete is assumed to behave like an isotropic, linear-viscoelastic material. On the basis of this and other assumptions, a set of simplified stress-strain relations are set up. It is shown how the parameters involved can be estimated from simple tests with specimens under a uniaxial state of stress.

In conncection with the elastic-viscoelastic analogy the use of the above relations is illustrated by two examples. One concerning multiaxial stress analysis of a concrete cylinder - and one concerning the influence of aggregates on shrinkage of concrete.
