    Abstract

Production transfer is defined by the set of activities attached to send off, receipt and running-in a production system in a new environment. The activities concern handling of physical elements as well as non-material, knowledge based issues like documentation, education/training and management. From a technical point of view this paper analyses some experiences of Danish companies' production transfers to the south-east Asia region with a focus on technology, quality, organisational and management issues as well as location concerns. Keywords: Production transfer, international production, location, technology adaptation.
