Abstract
A structural analysis of a cross stiffened orthotropic GRP panel
subjected to uniaxial compressive loads is carried out. Analytical
solutions to the buckling of such structures are proposed and
validated by a finite element analysis. Both analytical and finite
element approaches confirm an identical failure scenario. In the
present case, the load carring capacity of the stiffened panel is
limited by the plate buckling capability.
