Abstract
The VUV photodissociation of HOD in the first (Ã-state) absorption band following a non-resonant impulsive vibrational excitation is studied theoretically. We show that a change in the linear temporal chirp of a VUV pulse with a fixed frequency distribution leads to control of the branching ratio (H + OD)/(D + OH) between the two fragmentation channels.
