Abstract

Cognitive control domains are discussed in terms of skill-, rule-, and knowledge-based behaviour. This distinction is used to characterize the psychological mechanisms behind typical categories of errors considered as occurrences of man-task mismatches. The relationship of errors with human learning and adaptation is stressed.
