Abstract
This chapter focuses on describing the characteristic microstructures
of nanostructured metals produced by plastic deformation to ultrahigh strains
and their correlation with hardening by annealing and softening by deformation.
The results suggest that optimising microstructure and the mechanical properties
of nanostructured metals can be achieved by a combination of post-process heat
treatment and deformation
