Abstract
Binary adsorption equilibria are calculated by means of a
mathematical model for multicomponent mixtures combined with the
SPD (Spreading Pressure Dependent) model for calculation of
activity coefficients in the adsorbed phase. The model has been
applied successfully for the adsorption of binary mixtures of
hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide on activated carbons. The model
parameters have been determined, and the model has proven to be
suited for prediction of adsorption equilibria in the investigated
systems.
