Abstract
A novel approach for impedance matching of probe-fed, stacked microstrip patch antenna elements is demonstrated. The matching structure is compact and enables more than doubling of the operational bandwidth. A circuit model for the feeding probes is developed and its impact on antenna impedance is discussed.
