Bistable Fano Laser with Optical Feedback

Abstract

We propose a bistable device based on a Fano laser with optical feedback. We show that the laser can perform flip-flop action with switch-on and switch-off speeds of 10 and 60 ps, respectively, and energy consumption down to 20 and 70 fJ/bit.
