(Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox phase formation in a silver-sheathed multifilament tape

    Abstract

    The 2223 formation is studied on tape samples air-quenched from the annealing temperature. The morphology, dimension and distribution of 2223 phase at the early stage of annealing are revealed by SEM on a scale of several grains. Based on this observation a tentative model of nucleation/growth is proposed.
