Abstract
Currently, there are several compensatory techniques that can be used as a solution for the sustainable management of rainwater. However, choosing the best option can be a complex task. This study aims to present a multi-criteria analysis model dedicated to the selection of compensatory techniques that are easy to understand in order to serve as a decision support tool for sector managers. The analytical hierarchy process (AHP) was adopted as the multicriteria model. The criteria used in the selection were defined based on previous studies. The proposed multicriteria model was applied to a case study with 7 scenarios for the use of different compensatory techniques. It is observed that in the first place there is the scenario that used the infiltration trenches followed by the scenario based on the use of permeable pavement. These scenarios classified in the first positions actually present a good compromise between the values of the various criteria adopted, presenting a balance that results in a better evaluation. The results obtained indicated that the proposed structure met the objective of this study, being a model with simplified indicators with an mathematical approach easy to understand, providing a friendly and intuitive tool to be applied even by non-specialists in multi-criteria models.
