Automatic in situ force magnetometer for electric-lead-suspended samples

Abstract

A simple, versatile and fully automatic force magnetometer is described. The sample is elastically mounted, and the force is determined from the displacement, which is detected capacitively. Electric measurements may be carried out alternating with magnetic measurements. The sensitivity is competitive with that of most commercial magnetometers.
