    Abstract

    The programme of the Research Unit of the Fusion Association Euratom - Risø
    National Laboratory covers work in fusion plasma physics and in fusion technology. The fusion plasma physics group has activities within development of laser diagnostics for fusion plasmas and studies of nonlinear dynamical processes related to electrostatic turbulence and turbulent transport in magnetised plasmas. The activities in technology cover investigations of radiation damage of fusion reactor materials. These activities contribute to the Next Step, the Long-term and the Underlying Fusion Technology programme. The technology activities also include contibutions to macrotasks, which are carried out under the programme for SocioEconomic Research on Fusion (SERF). A summary is presented of the results obtained in the Research Unit during 1998.
