Abstract
Abstract:Solar thermal system is one of the most widely used technologies of renewable energy ipresently. In order to further improve the system design and to increase its performance,a deep understanding of the complicated fluid flow and heat transfer in the system components is necessary. The most promising solution to this challenge is the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in combination with particle image velocimetry (PIV),which will be the future trend in the investigation of solar thermal systems. The aim of this work is to give an overview of the status of the CFD-PIV application in solar thermal systems.
