Abstract
The data that forms the basis of our legislation for performance-based fire safety design has a greater impact on society than most people realize, which is why it must be accurate in the full range in which the data is used. In 2011, Swedish legislation introduced values for the heat of combustion and soot yield, based on experimental data published in the third edition of the SFPE Handbook [1].
