An ARROW-based silicon-on-insulator photonic crystal waveguides with reduced losses

Abstract

We employ an antiresonant reflecting layers arrangement for siliicon-on-insulator based photonic crystal waveguides with thin cores. 3D FDTD numerical modelling reveals the reduction of losses with a promising potential for competing with membrane-like waveguides.
