Abstract

The article discusses the relation and difference between concepts of 'general qualification' (in danish: almenkvalificering) and 'formation' (in german: Bildung, in danish: dannelse), the latter including autonomy and self-regulation. The discussion is illustrated by an experiment with democratic developmental processes involving unskilled workers from the danish fishing industry in cooperation with researhers.
