Abstract
The qualification of wind turbine components is essential to ensuring their reliability, safety, and performance under increasingly demanding environmental and operational conditions. This paper presents an in-depth analysis of technology qualification processes (TQP) for wind turbine components, examining the methodologies, standards, and best practices that underpin their development and validation. Key challenges, such as material fatigue, environmental degradation, and dynamic loads, are discussed alongside emerging innovations, including digital twin technologies, advanced materials, and harmonized international standards. The paper, structured as follows, highlights the critical role of TQP in minimising uncertainties, reducing risks, and supporting the rapid adoption of novel technologies. Through this review, we propose a framework for advancing TQP that integrates sustainability, digitalization, and lifecycle considerations, paving the way for more robust and efficient wind turbine systems in both onshore and offshore environments
