Abstract
A new implementation of a laser time-of-flight velocimeter is described. The system is based on a novel combination of a holographic optical element, a semiconductor laser and a double-semiconductor detector. The system is much more compact and robust than systems based on conventional optical components. The calibration is defined by the holographic optical element and is independent of the optical wavelength.
