Abstract

This paper presents LT1, a novel open source framework for closed-loop or open-loop diabetes simulation. The software is written in JavaScript/TypeScript and can be used to create tools that run in any modern web browser. We provide details on the requirements, architecture, implementation, and features of the new simulator, including controller algorithms, implemented models of patient physiology and sensor dynamics. A new model of an insulin infusion pump is then introduced. Finally, we illustrate the use of LT1 at the hand of several applications.
