Abstract
This paper reviews the state of the art of the research and analysis on the risks of collision with offshore installations. The focus is placed on: existing criteria, FPSO collision accident, design scenarios for FPSO collision, mechanics of collision incidents, and consequences. The content of this paper is mainly drawn from the ISSC 2006 Specialist Committee V.1 on Collision and Grounding, which covers the technology development since 1990.
