A first iteration of an eco-efficiency assessment applied to coastal protection technologies: Potentials, Sources of uncertainty, Application

Research output: Book/ReportReportCommissioned

Abstract

This report presents the preliminary findings for implementing an eco-efficiency assessment of coastal protection technologies. The eco-efficiency method is applied on two of the cases which were qualitatively analyzed in the report for the Vand I Byer development project “Coastal protection technologies in a Danish context”, which was carried out in the period July 2017-June 2018. Rather than a case study, this preliminary research aims to highlight the potentials for applying a holistic tool, such as the eco-efficiency, for the quantification of environmental and economic sustainability of coastal protection measures.
