    Abstract

This one-day conference on coordinate measuring machines is the 9th in a row of conferences organised in connection with the Danish CMM Club, a users’ group regarding CMMs that has existed in Denmark since 1994. The Danish CMM Club was founded by the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Management in connection with a Nordic project concerned with creation of a network in coordinate metrology in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. A major activity of the project was an industrial comparison of 62 CMMs in the Scandinavian Coutries. Since it’s start in 1994, the Danish CMM Club has held six one-day conferences on different themes, as well as a Nordic conference dealing with results from the industrial comparison. Upon expiration of the Nordic project in 1997, members of the Club decided to continue it’s activities for three one-day conferences more. This 9th conference represents termination of the second lifetime cycle of the club. This conference treates the traceability of geometrical measurements with particular reference to those obtained using coordinate measuring machines. A number of on-going activities and new achievements in coordinate metrology are presented by European experts in the field. The speakers are gratefully thanked for their contributions.
