    Abstract

    Tunable optical pulse compression is proposed to generate the FCC compliant impulse radio utra-wideband (IR-UWB) pulses with high speed modulation. Experimental generation and transmission of up to 5 Gbps IR-UWB signals are successfully demonstrated.
