Project Details
Description
Ph.D.: Hans N. Hansen
The project contains a study of the state-of-the-art in performance verification and calibration of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). A series of own investigations were carried out on the influence parameters in optical coordinate metrology. An industrial comparison of CMMs in the Scandinavian countries was carried out. A total of 62 CMMs participated in the audit and were used to measure five different items covering a wide range of dimensions and geometrical quantities. The first system in Denmark for calibration of CMMs and ball plates under accreditation was developed. An expert system for the determination of uncertainties in coordinate metrology was developed. A disc plate was developed as a new two-dimensional artefact for calibration of optical CMMs.
