Thermo-mechanical model for 3D printing of sustainable thermoplastic composites

Project Details

Description

SustainPrint aims at developing a thermo-mechanical simulation tool validated by experiments to predict the final geometry and residual stress state of a to-be-printed continuous fiber-reinforced composite (CFRC) structure. It is hypothesized that the physics-based thermo-mechanical model developed in this project will provide the capability to accurately predict the final dimension and residual stress of a to-be-manufactured CFRC structure.
