    Description

Due to the geology of Bornholm areas with higher concentrations of natural radioactivity are expected. In areas with higher concentrations of uranium (and radium) problems with radon in the indoor air may come up. Therefore an airborne gamma-ray measurement of Bornholm was started in 1997 (with expected continuation in 1998-1999). Rural areas covering 30% of Bornholm was measured; and new areas with higher than normal uranium concentrations were observed only for a small area with a very low population.
