The project partly sponsored by the Swedish governmental institution FORMAS aims to develop a method to mathematically describe the process of moisture movement in concrete and its effects on ionic species in the pore solution. This topic is very important since it is the underlying mechanism for all deterioration processes in concrete. The project will be arranged as an intimate collaboration between DTU and Lund Institute of Technology LTH, Sweden and one of the largest cement companies TAIHEIYO cement in Japan. In end of 2009 we expect that many important research findings will be presented within the frame of the defined project.
