Description
In a circular economy, the hierarchy for end-of-life practices of a building rates reuse of whole buildings followed by reuse of building components highest. Reuse of structural parts of the building requires documentation of the properties in order to equate the safety of using reused components and new components.
This project enables reuse of basic building components of concrete, wood and steel by setting documentation requirements and combining non-destructive test methods so these requirements can be met. Pilot scale tests and practical implementation of these requirements/tests are also carried out.
