Project Details
Description
India and Denmark share ambitious goals for green hydrogen (H2) production. A significant barrier to scaling up their production is the uncertainty surrounding projects' optimal configurations and profita-bility. While pilot projects underway are providing insights into operational aspects, investors need detailed data and predictive models to assess potential revenue streams of H2 production across different geographical regions, as the profitability is closely tied to location-specific weather condi-tions and evolving energy systems. This project creates a software ecosystem to mitigate investment risks in developing green H2 and PTX projects in India and Europe. Considering the future H2 de-mand, evolution of energy systems, day-ahead markets, and state-of-the-art operational optimisation models, all streamlined to the same weather data, the project develops advanced sizing optimisation and econometric tools to aid H2 investments. It has three major deliverables: 1) Software ecosystem for future H2 investments 2) Extended version of opensource HyDesign software, customised for India’s weather and grid conditions to identify the optimal H2 production configurations, 3) Profitabil-ity assessment tools for H2-related investments, and econometric maps for different H2 production configurations, which serves as a reference atlas. This project's deliverables go beyond technical feasibility—financial and strategic insights to transform India's H2 ambitions into a scalable reality.
