Project Details
Description
The transition towards a Circular economy necessitate development of methodologies, for optimal utilization of secondary resources. One such resource is sewage sludge ash (SSA), which has a high concentration of the critical resource P. Research has also shown that SSA can potentially be utilized in concrete. This project is based on a combination of P extraction and utilization of the SSA, after the P extraction, in concrete. EasyMining in Sweden has developed a method for acid extraction of P (Ash2Phos), and in the present research investigates the use of the SSA after this process (termed Silica Sand) as sand or cement replacement in concrete.
