Description
The existence of space charge in DC cables is studied theoretically through the application of classical field theory. Such an approach implies that the influence of the macroscopic parameters of the insulation materials upon the space charge is examined. The aim of the project is to provide design criteria with respect to the conductivity of the insulation material, in terms of the applied electric field strength and cable operating temperature.
