    Description

Traditional satellite power systems has been protected by means of electro-mechanical relays and fuses. Significant improvement in dynamical performance, protection and reliability can however be obtained by introducing solid state switching. This project aims at providing solutions to some basic problems that solid state switching are still facing. These are to improve the analytical methods to insure stability of the overall power system including the interface to the users, to define the functional requirements of a standard solid state switch, as well as to propose technological solutions and circuit designs that are cost efficient, yet still fullfil all the space environmental requirements.
