Solar-driven open sorption system for air cooling in buildings

    Project Details

    Description

To ensure good air quality in airtight buildings, good ventilation is necessary. During the winter, ventilation air can be used to cover the heat demand in low-energy buildings, but in the summer the necessary ventilation will cause overheating and thus there is a need for cooling. In the summer of 2018, too many hours of sunshine resulted in overheated buildings in Denmark, so even in Denmark there is a need for cooling during the summer period to ensure a comfortable indoor climate.
The purpose of this project is to develop a solar-driven cooling system that can be integrated with the ventilation systems of buildings.
The project is expected to result in new energy-saving cooling systems for buildings, which will also be a good business opportunity for Danish companies both nationally and internationally.
