Project Details
Description
The project aims to enhance small-scale post-combustion carbon capture, focusing on decentralized CO sources like those linked to agricultural biogas plants.
Welltec will demonstrate a carbon capture system designed to sequester CO2 directly from point sources, reducing emissions and promoting circular economy practices by converting biogenic CO2 into e-fuels. Aligned with Danish energy policy goals, the project aims to boost independence from fossil fuels and support the circular economy by reusing biogenic CO2 sustainably.
Objectives include demonstrating a fully integrated and automated Welltec small-scale carbon capture at the Greenfarm biogas plant at Gråsten Landbrugsskole, focusing on effective CO2 capture, cost efficiency, scalability, regulatory compliance, technological advancement and minimal environmental impact.
The consortium, also comprising DTU, SINTEF, AAU, GreenFarm, and Esbjerg Port, brings together expertise across the carbon capture value chain, ensuring a comprehensive approach to project execution and fostering innovation, practical application, and scalability to meet environmental and energy policy objectives.
