Signal integration for programmable cell fate and pathway engineering

Project Details

Description

In order to survive and reproduce, organisms must compute multiple signals into specific cell programs, these systems must have the capacity to sense the information, process it and activate specific cell programs. Therefore, we aim to program cells for applications on metabolic engineering and as logic devices. These programmable cells will be able to sense, process and dynamically execute specific cellular programs. To do so, we work in vivo and in silico on developing a set of diverse and well-characterized biosensors, robust programmable circuits to process and record information, and dynamic multi-gene regulatory strategies to execute different output programs for dynamic control.
