Project Details
Description
Natural product glycosides constitute interesting drug leads and industrial chemicals, and sustainable routes to their synthesis is highly desirable. In nature, they are synthesized by secondary metabolism glycosyltransferases (GTs). Combining structural biology, enzymology and high-throughput (HTP) cell-based activity screening, we engage in a systematic study of secondary metabolism GT structural and functional determinants, to provide the framework for efficient secondary metabolism GT discovery and engineering for specific industrial processes.
