Project Details

Description

The techniques for measurement of sea waves by satellites have been known for some years, but not very much utilized in the design and operation of ships and offshore platforms, in spite of the unique opportunities of on-line wave measurements offered through the publicly accessible satellite measurement programmes. The EU-sponsored project SUCCESS (Satellite Uses: a Common Course for Engineering and Sea-condition Studies) with partners from France, Portugal, Sweden, Greece, England, Italy, Netherlands and Denmark is developing tools to facilitate such utilisation.
