Project Details


The purpose of the project was to evaluate the safety and mobility effects of lowering the licensing age for large mopeds (moped 45) and small motorcycles (A1).
The project included several elements: 1. Scenario based prediction of safety and mobility effects of changing the licensing age, 2 A literature study, 3. Mapping of moped use in Denmark, 4. Modelling of the risk of serious injury and death among danish moped users, 5. Crash analysis of crashes involving small mopeds, large moped and small motorcycles, 6. Analysis of attitudes, facilitators and barriers towards moped riding among youth and parent, 7. Analysis of perceived safety and engagement in violations among young moped riders.
The project is financed by the Ministry of Transport, Building, and Housing.
