Project Details

Description

The objective of the proposal is to purchase a QuantStudio 5 system, a Real Time quantitative PCR machine. This instrument will be used to genotype and quantify gene expression in different fish species under various environmental conditions in a cost-effective manner. The QuantStudio 5 will allow validation of high-troughput based genomic and transcriptomic studies in our existing molecular laboratories, thereby supporting molecular investigations at individual and population level in the field of marine ecology, eco-physiology, conservation and aquaculture. This will boost the opportunities of supporting national and international research collaborations as well as student work, in the dynamic intersection between basic and applied science.

Funding
The instrument is funded by Carlsberg Foundation.
