Description
This research aims at building up knowledge on structuring principles for product families, with focus on the handling of product families in a product development context.
This requires an overview of possible structuring principles for product families, their consequences in the different life phases and knowledge on how the different structuring principles fit different markets and organisational situations.
Based on this knowledge, the aim is to develop and implement tools and methods that can be used to support the choice between different structuring principles in the early phases of product design.
