Project Details
Description
Development of a superconducting cable with accessories.
The design and constuction of a superconducting cable with room temperature dielectric design is under development in a large Danish development project lead by NKT Research and subventioned by Energistyrelsen.
The cable design comprises the cable conductor made of Bi2223 PIT tapes, the cryostat and cooling system with liquid nitrogen and the cable end terminations.
A prototype cable with rated power 100 MVA, nominal current 2 kA, voltage 36 kV and 30 m length is under development and it will be tested in the Copenhagen Energy network in a transformer station located on Amager.
