Project Details
Description
This project has been carried out for the Department of the Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark in support of the Department’s work, on implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive. Quantification of the effect of ship noise on fish stocks is difficult and not possible with the current state of knowledge. The fish stocks in Danish waters are well managed, in good health or recovering. The effect of ship noise on fish stocks, if a significant threat, is mitigated by adjusting the fishing effort on the stocks. There are no clear and immediate threats to fish from ships.
