Project Details
Description
Optical Time Division Multiplexing (OTDM) will be a possibility to upgrade optical trasmission system capacity beyond electronic capabilities. Hence, in order to use this technology in trunklines with multiple nodes, methods for all-optical demultiplexing and add-and-drop multiplexing must be investigated. The scope of this project is to derive crucial parameters limiting the transmission capacity and to develop optical methods enabling the upgrade of existing transmission systems to 40 Gbit/s and above.
