Project Details
Description
The primary goal of OPTIX is to address these challenges by developing and demonstrating innovative solutions for optimising the energy performance of urban districts through interoperable digital platforms that integrate and manage diverse renewable energy systems, storage technologies, and energy flexibility solutions. To achieve this goal, OPTIX has set the following key objectives:
● Develop and validate innovative technological solutions for optimising energy performance at building and district levels, by integrating solar PV, innovative facade technologies, advanced storage, renewable heating and cooling, and smart control systems.
● Create and test advanced digital twin models and blockchain-based energy trading platforms that enable real-time monitoring, analysis, control, and peer-to-peer transactions of energy systems, fostering unprecedented levels of community participation and empowerment.
● Demonstrate and assess the effectiveness and impact of the project solutions in seven diverse real-world pilot sites across Europe, providing a robust foundation for cross-border replication and knowledge sharing.
● Develop and disseminate a novel scalable and replicable model for positive energy districts that can be easily adapted to different contexts, setting a new standard for urban energy transition.
