OpenCirc: Development of an Integrated open access tool enabling circularity in Construction

Project Details

Description

OpenCirc aims to address the growing demands for quality, safety, sustainability, and energy efficiency in the real estate and construction industry. With regulations like the EU’s Construction Products Regulation (CPR), Scope 3, REACH, life-cycle assessments, and environmental product declarations (EPD), the sector has seen an explosion of data and reporting. However, the lack of harmonisation in documentation and reporting requirements across the value chain has resulted in fragmented and inconsistent data, slowing down the construction process. The OpenCirc project addresses the key challenge by improving the way information about materials and components in buildings can be shared across the value chain.

OpenCirc’s mission is to deliver an open-access, unified digital framework that enables seamless data exchange among all stakeholders. By supporting the industry’s transition to circular economy practices, OpenCirc aims to enhance resource efficiency and transparency across the entire value chain.
