Numerical analysis of metal forming processes

Different projects on numerical modelling of plate rolling are performed. A numerical model with focus on the effect of viscoplasticity and realistic modelling of contact and friction is developed. The influence of rolling and material parameters is examined for both symmetrical and asymmetrical rolling of wide plates. In addition, the numerical model is also applied in a research project on the correlation between microstructure, mechanical properties and plastic forming of aluminium
