Project Details
Description
A joint project between the Department of Electric Power Engineering, DEFU and the Danish Power Utilities has been established in order to develop and investigate methods for assesment of the insulation condition in extruded mediium voltage cables (XLPE).
The basic principle is dielectric spectroscopy, i.e. determination of loss and capacitance of the cable insulation as function of applied frequency and voltage.
The project is linked to a common nordic project were activties in Norway, Sweden and Denmark in this research area are coordinated and experiences exchanged. Universities as well as power utilities are involved.
