    Project Details

    Description

The objective of this European project is to develop framing systems with a heat loss coefficient matching the best glazing solutions on the market, i.e. a heat loss coefficient of approximately 0.5 W/m2K. The works has been concentrated on identifying the critical parts in the frame and develop new designs and ideas to overcome these. BYG·DTU is responsible for the detailed thermal simulations needed for evaluation of new ideas and materials. Main result is a working document describing in detail the heat flow patterns in complex window frames and identifying the weak parts.
